The building itself is one of the oldest houses in the
village we have found
references in old records as far back as 1610.
Originally a farmhouse
many of the old features have been saved
and carefully preserved, including two old ranges,
an indoor well, pine panelling
and a lovely old timber staircase
built over an existing stone stairway.

In 1930 the farmland was sold
for development in what
by then was the village centre.
The house itself was roughly carved up
to form two cottages which
over a 60 year period of
neglect became almost
derelict. In 1990 we bought the property
and began a careful and
ongoing restoration project.
